This water softener and iron filter system in one unit is great for well water, reducing hardness, iron, and sulfur. REMOVES HARDNESS, IRON, SULFUR, MANGANESE, ODORS, CHEMICALS, BACTERIA CONTROL, HEAVY METALS, AND SEDIMENT. The KDF 85 media guard is effective in controlling the buildup of bacteria, algae, fungi and scale, providing good-tasting water throughout the whole house. No maintenance is needed on the mediaguard system.

The gravel filters large debris and sediment, while the fine mesh resin removes hardness and iron. The KDF Media Guard 85 specifically targets the removal of iron and sulfur. This unit can handle hardness up to 50 gpg, iron up to 6 ppm or mg/l, and hydrogen sulfide up to 2 ppm. It provides general filtration of all chemicals, odors, and sediment.

However, note that some water may still require an additional iron filter, and if bacteria is present, a disinfection system must be added to remove it.

This Whole House Water Softener with a KDF 85 Media Guard is designed for reducing iron and hydrogen sulfide in well water, combining a water softener, iron filter, and more all in one system.

The unit comes equipped with a 12" x 52" mineral tank pre-loaded with 2 Cubic Ft of UPGRADED 10% Cross Linked Cation Softening Resin and gravel. It also includes an electronic control valve with a 1" bypass (¾" bypass available by request), and a brine tank with a safety float (salt not included).

This system is sized for homes with 3-6 people and 2-6 bathrooms, removing water hardness, iron up to 6-8 ppm range, manganese up to 6 ppm, as well as sediment and rust.
